I wanted to let you know that staff and students have been working hard to acclimate to the district shift to competency based assessment and grading. As of now, most teachers have at least a few assignments in Alma and students are able to check their progress weekly during Eagle Block.
We continue to work on mastering Alma, grading, and establishing eligibility and honor roll guidelines. For all of these reasons, there will not be a published progress report. If you are curious about how your student is doing, please log in to Alma tomorrow, 10/12/18 to get a snapshot of trimester one mid-term progress for your student. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the teachers directly. The first official report card will be available 12/6/18.
I ran an eligibility report for the most recent PBIS trip and it was based on no missing assignments. That is what I am going to do on a weekly basis starting Tuesday, 10/16. This will be communicated to students on a regular basis. Parents will be notified by email if their student has missing assignments. We are still working on honor roll.

As always, thank you for your support through this transition and let me know if you have any further questions.
I look forward to our “Red Sox” Friday (or any other Boston team apparel or Red, White, and Blue apparel). We will be offering “Fenway Franks” and popcorn at recess tomorrow. Students can buy the treats for 1 Eagle Buck each.
